Maceration is the traditional method at the heart of every genuine liqueurs. Fresh fruit, herbs or flowers are steeped in high-proof spirit for several weeks or months, allowing their natural flavours, aromas and colour to dissolve slowly into the liquid.

Unlike rapid distillation techniques, maceration preserves the delicate character of each ingredient — which is why our liqueurs taste so true to the fruit they are made from. The longer the maceration, the deeper and more complex the final flavour.

Absolutely. After maceration the liqueur is filtered and left to mature — in our case for a minimum of twelve months. During this resting period the flavours marry and mellow, sharp alcohol notes soften, and the liqueurs develops its signature velvety smoothness.

Think of it much like ageing wine: a freshly made infusion can taste raw and one-dimensional, whereas a properly matured liqueurs reveals layers of aroma and a beautifully rounded finish. Patience is what separates a good liqueur from a truly exceptional one.
